Hope all is well with you. Interesting post. Yeah, I was raised Catholic too and can see flaws with people and teachings in my history. But not with my God. I learned alot about Islam from a very peaceful muslim. He pointed out that different sects in islam would kill me, and his particular sect too! He says he doesn't interpret the Qu’ran to say that he should kill non-muslims, but others do. The reality of it all is stark. Innocent people are beheaded and dragged in the streets. Car bombings. 9-11. Are these done in the name of Jesus? The groups claiming responsibility for these are not the Catholic Priests, or other Christians. They misled islamic people, full of hate. Loved by God (in spite of their actions), but decieved. The REAL question is: What should our reaction be? Revenge? War? Hate? Should we wait and see what comes next? Should we forgive? Excuse them? Each must decide for himself or herself. And our government must decide, too. AS for me, I have decided to pray for them. I believe my strength is not in my self, but in what my God can do. Even though you were raised Catholic and all these things have happened to the church, it doesn not affect whom JESUS CHRIST is. When He is your Lord and Savior, nothing can affect that. He is a gentlman and will not force His way upon you. He said in the word, if you to open your heart to Him and ask Him to come in. then He will and He will fill you with His Spirit and write upon your heart the true circumcism. The church is one thing, a relationship with Jesus is another. It's real and He is alive. If you have not experienced that, than you have not asked Him to come into your heart. It causes me much dismay after all I shared with you, that you still reject the things I have told you. But why should I be upset for many rejected Him. It clearly says this in the word, He is the way, the truth and the life and he who believe in Him shall have eternal life. Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the Kingdom of God, unless he is born again.? How can a man be born when he is old Nicodemus asked. Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born." Jesus answered, " I tell you the truth no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh but the spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying :You must be born again.The wind blows whereever it pleases. You hear it's sound, but you cannot see where it comes from or where it is going. So It is with everyone born of the Spirit.
